Application
The scotch yoke actuator amplifies the linear force of a pressurized piston or compressed spring. The scotch yoke converts that linear force into a rotary motion and torque. Inert gase enters PortA and pressurizes the power module causing the piston to move along the length of the cylinder away from the drive module. Simultaneously,the spring is compressed toward the drive module. The piston’s linear movement and the force genearated is transferred via the Piston Rod and through the guide block to the Scotch Yoke.When the gas is exhausted , the spring now generates the linear force causing the yoke to travel clockwise (CW).
